Decors and Favors

They say the devil is in the details so hiring an event stylist can relieve you of such a heavy burden of desiging your venue (both church and reception) from the big signages to the smallest table ornament. But in case you want to DIY and be on top of eveything, here's a list of items you need to add to your list:

  1. Flowers (go for real flowers or origami your way to the altar)
  2. Signages (gone are the days of tarps and printed signs, hire an artist to create beautiful wedding signages
  3. Table ornaments (depending on your theme, you can decorate your guests' tables with lamps, framed pictures, more flowers and some knick knacks)
  4. Don't forget about the stage during the reception (this will serve as a backdrop for the whole evening)
  5. Create Instagram-worthy spots by adding accent items which fit your theme

We know it's hard to think about your party favors but resist the temptation to give out scented candles or ceramics with your face on it. Think about something your guests will not throw away use. Here are a few examples.

  1. A small notebook (without your face on it)
  2. A fan (without your face on it)
  3. A nice jar filled with yummy treats like gummies, chocolates (without your face on it)
  4. A flowerpot (without your face on it)
  5. A calendar (without your face on it)
  6. A nice mug (without your face on it)
  7. A book (without your face on it)

Basically, anything useful that looks nice and doesn't have your face on it. If you really must, maybe add in your initials and your wedding date? But make it small, please. I'm running out of words but I need to keep this going so here's a quote by C.S. Lewis disguised as a paragraph: “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”

Hi, TWP. I was wondering if you can post something about bridal registry? What's the best option out there? Thanks!
